Jag Panzer

Jag Panzer is an American power metal band from Colorado / Texas, named after the German word Jagdpanzer. It is alleged that the launched under the name Tyrants, as a school band power metal band borrowed the name from an old VW beetle lying around in their neighborhood and on the rear window, the German word " tank destroyer " was written. The band members themselves saw claims to their inspiration in a book from the local library, where a larger, aggressive -looking armor was imaged with the title "a tank destroyer ." While they liked the name, but they were concerned that it might be difficult to pronounce the name in English, after which they removed the 'd' from the name.

A certain level of recognition gained the band in 1984 with their debut album Ample Destruction ( appeared in various pressures, including as a bootleg with different cover artwork ), which is still regarded as one of the best U.S. power metal albums of the 1980s.

In the following years the band had with changing line-up and style changes ( Neo - Thrash Metal in the vein of Pantera on the 1995 album Dissident Alliance) to fight, so they came up in the 1990s, almost forgotten. 1997, there was the reunion of Ample Destruction line- ups since the band delighted especially in the European Heavy Metal Underground, a new boom.

After over ten years in constant occupation left Chris Broderick, the band in January 2008, Megadeth. Jag Panzer quickly found in Chris Lasegue replacement - an old acquaintance, who has been heard on the 1987 demo Chain of Command.

Mid-2011, it was announced on the band's website, the dissolution of the group.
