Jagriti (translated: The Awakening ) is a Bollywood classics by Satyen Bose. He is the sixth most successful film of 1954 and became a hit.

Action

The film is about a spoiled and spoiled boy named Ajay. Because of this, Ajay is sent to a boarding school.

The boarding school is run by Shekhar. Shekhar tries his students to teach good manners, even if it means applying unorthodox teaching methods. He wins the confidence of the students, teaching them the culture of their country and encourages them to become modern citizens.

In the boarding school, Ajay goes his habits after and always making trouble. During the stay in school, he befriends the socially disadvantaged pupils Shanti running on crutches. Although they may not be characteristically different, they get along very well. And even Shakti tries Ajay to help let go of his stubbornness.

One day Ajay breaks out of the boarding school. As Shakti gets wind of it, he tried despite his disability to make Ajay identified. During his search, he gets into a serious accident which is fatal for him. It was only then realizes Ajay that a man has lost his life only because of his stubbornness. This recognition is for him a turning point: Ajay evolved from then on to a better person. His academic performance are excellent.

Shekhar feels vindicated in his teaching method and leaves the boarding school to spread to other schools also these methods.
