Jak Jones

Jak Jones ( born July 29, 1993 Cwmbran ) is a Welsh snooker player.

Career

Jones tried to qualify for the Tour Snooker Season 2010/11 on the Pontin's International Open Series for the Snooker Main. Despite the Final feeder at one of the tournaments he was in the end only tenth in the tournament series, thereby acquiring the time being no Main Tour ticket. Finally, he attained but by winning the EBSA European Snooker Championship 2010 Junior World for the first time the status of a snooker professionals. In the final he beat Anthony McGill 6-4.

In his first Main Tour season, Jones reached only twice the round of the last 32 tournaments in the PTC series. In full ranking tournaments he succeeded only at the Welsh Open 2011 victory against David Gilbert. Consequently, he could not keep on the main tour itself.

During the snooker season 2011/12 Jones participated in nine of the twelve tournaments in the Players Tour Championship 2011/12. He scored his best result by reaching the fourth round of the PTC events 2 He beat the pros Anthony Hamilton, James Wattana and Sam Craigie before he failed to Rory McLeod. He ended with the split 75th place of the PTC prize money ranking behind Craig Steadman and Kyren Wilson 's third best amateur players.

In April 2013 Jones won one of the three final matches of the EBSA Qualifying Tour and thus received a two- year tour ticket for the 2013/14 and 2014/15 snooker season.
