Jake Gardiner

Jake Gardiner ( born July 4, 1990 in Deephaven, Minnesota ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since March 2011 the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Jake Gardiner first played from 2005 to 2008 Hockey in the Minnetonka Skippers, the high school team in the Minnetonka High School, in the high school league system of the United States. During this time he also gained playing experience in the ice hockey team of the Team South West, for which the defensive player was equally active in the high school league system. In the 2007 /08 season Gardiner acted in the role of the team captain of the Minnetonka Skippers, where he succeeded his point best season at the Minnetonka High School. In his debut season he was with 21 points in 39 games, including 18 assists, the second-best rookie defender of the WCHA and finished within the team to third place among the defenders of the Wisconsin Badgers after Jamie McBain and Brendan Smith. Internationally

Gardiner was in the squad of the U.S. national team for the Under-20 Junior World Cup in 2010. In seven games, he recorded three assists and secured with the U.S. to a 6-5 victory after extra time in the final against Canada to win the tournament.
