Jakob Eklund

Jakob Eklund ( born February 21, 1962 in Gothenburg, Sweden) is a Swedish actor, who in Germany through his involvement in the crime series GSI - was known special unit Gothenburg. Eklund is active in both film and television as well as theater.

Biography

Jakob Eklund is the son of actor couple Olof Eklund and Brit Ångström Eklund.

In 1987 he completed his drama degree at the Higher School of Theatre Stockholm before he had engagements at the Empire Theatre in Stockholm and at the Dramatic Theatre.

His film debut was in the movie Fanny 's Farm ( Original title: Änglagård ), which premiered in 1992 and two years later a sequel was filmed ( Änglagård - andra sommaren ), in which he participated also.

The German television audience is Eklund for his role as Commissioner Johan Falk in the TV crime series GSI - known special unit Gothenburg, which started as a feature film trilogy between 1999 and 2003 and continues as a series since 2009.

Despite his numerous film and television roles Jakob Eklund is also still active in the theater and in 2009 was as Claudius in Hamlet on stage at the Stockholm City Theatre.
