Jakob Glanzer Shul

The Jakob Glasner school (Ukrainian Якоб Глазнер Шул ) or the Hasidic synagogue is a synagogue in Lviv ( Ukraine).

Location

The synagogue is located on the northern edge of the old town, at the Theatre Square and the Square of St. Theodora.

History

In the years 1841 to 1844, the synagogue was built. In it, there was also a yeshiva and a mikveh. The Jakob Glasner school was devastated by the Nazis and used as a horse stable. In the USSR, the building was used as a classroom building of the high school. Since 1989 located in the original synagogue, a Jewish cultural center.
