Jakob Jantscher (born 8 January 1989 in Graz) is an Austrian football player at the position of midfielder. Since 2013 he is with the NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie under contract.

Career

Club career

In his youth he played for SC Unterpremstätten and LUV Graz, before he moved to the youth department of SK Sturm Graz in 2003.

On 20 October 2007 he debuted in the first team of the Graz against FC Red Bull Salzburg when he came on in the 83rd minute for Thomas Krammer. His first Bundesliga goal achieved against SC Rheindorf Altach on 24 November 2007, the midfielder. During his time at Sturm Graz, he scored 14 goals in the amateurs in 41 games 7 goals for the first team in 74 games.

In June 2010 Jantscher signed a four year contract with FC Red Bull Salzburg. He could fight of the first games to a regular place in the team of FC Red Bull Salzburg already, in his first few games he has already scored three goals for his new club. He was elected at the Bruno Gala of the Association of footballer best player in the Bundesliga season 2011/12.

On September 6, 2012 Red Bull Salzburg announced that Jantscher would go on loan for a year to FK Dynamo Moscow. The Moscow also received an option to purchase. Although in Russia Jantscher performed well and was a regular player, the Russians still not attracted the purchase option and he returned to Salzburg. International Jantscher played five times for the Austrian U-19 selection, just five times for U -20 team, and twice for the U-21 national team of Austria.
