Jakob Kiefer

Jacob Kiefer ( born December 3, 1919 in Bad Kreuznach, † January 18, 1991 ) was a German gymnast.

He was several times German Champion 1952 and 1956 and took part in the Olympic Games.

Life and career

The entry into the 1848 VfL Bad Kreuznach was at the age of 10 years. 1938 jaw was already German youth champion in artistic gymnastics, 1947 Second German gymnastics champion and 1948 third in the Olympic Twelve struggle and Hessian champion.

1949 Pine returned back to VfL Bad Kreuznach, which he had left because of the turn prohibition in the French zone after the war. He was a co-founder of the Central Rhine Gymnastics Federation. In 1950 he acquired six German championship title at the German championships; 1951 German champion in gymnastics Twelve struggle and the Pommel Horse. Other highlights of his career were participating in the Olympic Games in Helsinki and Melbourne, after which he ended his career as a competitive athlete. He then worked as a teaching Wart and Wart in the country's artistic gymnastics Gymnastics Federation Middle Rhine, and as instructor at VfL Bad Kreuznach.

Kiefer worked full time as a janitor and museum guide in Schlossparkmuseum and also in the city archives of Bad Kreuznach. Since 1999, the school sports and multi- purpose hall bearing his name at the school at the Roman fort in Bad Kreuznach.
