Jakob Ullmann

Jakob Ullmann ( born July 12, 1958 in Freiberg ) is a German composer and university teacher. His father was the theologian, politician and editor of the weekly " Friday " Wolfgang Ullmann.

After total refusal of military service with the NVA Ullmann worked from 1978 to 1982, among other things as a janitor, stoker and house painter in Dresden. 1979 - 1982 he studied church music at the School of Church Music of the Protestant- Lutheran Church of Saxony. Starting in 1982, private studies in composition with Friedrich Goldmann, working as a freelance composer and author in samizdat publications.
