Jakobsberg

Jacob Berg is the capital of the Swedish community Järfälla in Stockholm County. Jacob Berg has grown together with Stockholm and therefore belongs to the Tätort Stockholm. The place has its origins in the medieval village Vibbla, which was first mentioned in 1347. The name derives from Jacob Berg was Jacob Lilliehöök, a baron and Major owned a farm in the municipality.

Jacob Mountain was up to the year 1970, a separate Tätort. The largest increase in population learned of the town between 1960 and 1965. The number of inhabitants increased in this period from 8.479 to 19.120 people.

Jakob mountain is connected by stop of the suburban train Pendeltåg the SL with the Stockholm city center.

A striking landmark has long been the windmill on the hill Kvarnbacken, which burned down in July 2005. The first predecessor of this mill came from the 18th century. On the hill, the annual Walpurgis Night and Midsummer festivals of the place will take place.
