Jalandhar ( Punjabi: ਜਲੰਧਰ; earlier anglicized Jullundur ) is a city in the northwestern Indian state of Punjab with 860,000 inhabitants. It is the administrative seat of the district of the same name. Sugar, canned food, textile and metal industries. The city is famous for its traditional ivory carvings.
