Jalayirid Sultanate

The Dschalairiden were a Mongol dynasty in Iraq ( 1336-1432 ). They came from the Mongol tribe of Dschalaiyr from Transoxiana from, came to Persia in 1256 and rose in the realm of Ilchane on in high offices of state. With the fall of the empire of the Ilkhanate in 1335 after taking the Dschalairiden under Hasan Buzurg ( 1336-1356 ) in Iraq, the power and charged Baghdad to the residence.

Under Uwais (1356 - 1374) succeeded the subjugation of the north-western Iran to Tabriz ( 1358 ) and Azerbaijan ( 1360 ). He was also an important patron of the arts. However, an association of Iran foundered on the opposition of Muzaffariden in southern Iran and the Kartiden in Khorasan.

Under Ahmad (1382 - 1410), conflicts arose with the 1393 Tamerlane conquered Baghdad and Iraq subdued. When Ahmad in 1395, with the support of the Egyptian Mamelukes, again returned to Baghdad, the city was conquered in 1401 by Timur Lenk again and badly damaged. Although succeeded after the death of Timur Lenk again to return to Baghdad, but the Dschalairiden were sold there in 1411 by the Qara Qoyunlu. They could still claim to 1432 in Basra.
