Jaligny-sur-Besbre
Jaligny -sur -Besbre is a commune with 610 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Auvergne region of Allier. It belongs to the district Vichy, the Association of Municipalities Val de Besbre Sologne Bourbonnais and is capital of the canton Jaligny -sur -Besbre.
Geography
The municipality is situated on the Besbre, about 25 kilometers southeast of Moulins and 35 kilometers northeast of Vichy.
History
Jaligny -sur -Besbre was founded in 67 as a Roman military camp. In the Middle Ages it was the seat of the Lords of Jaligny, often played an important role in French history.

- The municipality is located in the " Via Podiensis ", one of the already described in the 12th century four routes of the Camino pilgrimage to the Spanish Santiago de Compostela.
