Jalmar Sjöberg

Jalmar Leonard Sjöberg ( born March 31, 1985 in Teckomatorp ) is a Swedish wrestler.

As a junior in 2005 he was World Champion. In the same year, the 1.90 meter tall heavyweights joined the seniors. Since then, he could always improve, and in April 2007 he was third at the European Championships, where he only the eventual winner Chassan Barojew had to admit defeat of Russia.

  • 2006 5th Place, WM in Guangzhou (Canton), GR, after beating Ralf Boehringer, Germany and David Vala, Czech Republic and defeats Barojew Khasan, Russia and Sergei Artjuchin, Belarus
  • 2007, 3rd place European Championships in Sofia, GR, after victories over Revaz Chelidse, Georgia, Mindaugas Mizgaitis, Lithuania and Branda Gyula, Hungary and a defeat against Chassan Barojew
  • 2007 18th Place, WM in Baku, GR, after defeats against David Vala and Chassan Barojew and a win over Nico Schmidt, Germany
  • 2008 11th Place, EM in Tampere, GR, after a victory over Wladimir Guralski, Israel and a defeat against Aleksander Tschernetski, Ukraine
  • 2008, 5th place, OS in Beijing, GR, after beating Marek Mikulski, Poland, Anton Botev, Azerbaijan and Dremiel Byers, USA and defeats Mijain Lopez, Cuba and Yuri Patrikeyev, Armenia
  • 2009 2nd place European Championships in Vilnius, GR, up to 120 kg
  • 2009, 3rd place, World Championships in Herning, GR, up to 120 kg
