The Jama Michalika ( German Michaliks cave ) is one of the oldest cafes Krakauer and was opened in 1895 by Jan Apolinary Michalik, at that time still under the name Cukiernia Lwowska ( Lemberger pastry ). The current name was created because Michalik could initially make only a single room without any windows. The excellent location in the Ulica Floriańska 45 as well as the excellent patisserie offering and the invitation to students from the nearby Academy of Fine Arts to eat here for free to small works of art, the cave had become very popular quickly. So were soon painter, draftsman, writers, poets and sculptors to his frequent guests.

The cabaret was a meeting place of the Krakow Bohème and the texts of Tadeusz Boy - Żeleński and other Krakow writers have found a place in the Polish literary history. The highlight of every cabaret evening was the appearance of a puppet theater. The dolls - Works Krakow Artists - put people out of Krakow's prominence dar. To date, the puppets of the cabaret are seen in a display case and the extraordinarily beautiful furniture in the Art Nouveau style are covered with green cloth. The works of former art students decorate the walls. Elegant mirrors, glass windows, lamps, cabinets invite you to marvel at.
