Community structure

The community Jameln consists of ten hamlets since the municipal reform of 1972. Additionally, there are the three living spaces High air Jamelner mill and Krammühle.

Before 1972 High air belonged to the municipality Volkfien, Jamelner mill to the community Jameln and Krammühle to the municipality Breselenz.

Center of the municipality is Breselenz with around 450 inhabitants.

History

Incorporations

On 1 July 1972, the municipalities Breesen in ruptures, Breselenz, Breustian, Jarmeln (old church ), Horst Lange, Mehlfien, Platenlaase, Teichlosen, Volkfien and Wibbese were incorporated into the new municipality Jameln. The reason for the surprising naming lies in a compromise of the former municipalities Breselenz and Jameln what Breselenz has waived his privilege due to the location of the school, the church and the name of the sports club.

The development areas Dobro ( Jameln ) and Zieleitz are ( Breselenz ) between the two central towns. With the increasing development of new housing estate Zieleitz II both places to a local situation will grow together.

Religions

The Lutheran church has Breselenz with the parish Riebrau a common parish in Riebrau. It belongs to the church district Lüchow -Dannenberg.

Culture and sights

Structures

The village Jameln is characterized by a well-preserved Rundling with a village square and round Ling Road. This form of settlement is to be found in the Wendland in many villages, the majority, however, without a ring road in Rundling.

In the district of Breese i rupture is the 1592 built by Otto Grote estate chapel, which is still owned by the family of Grote today. The chapel is an important church in the Lüchow -Dannenberg one of the northernmost representative of the Weser Renaissance. A rectangular brick building with timber vestry to the east and the west ridge turret, the two gable divided with pilasters and cornices. Economy and infrastructure

In the community there are, the Raiffeisen Warengenossenschaft, some crafts and gastronomy and farm holdings no major economic activities. In Jameln and in the district Volkfien biogas plants were built. Both provide the area using district heating. So Volkfien is fully supplied with district heating and has been honored as a model village bioenergy.

Traffic

Through the community Jameln leads in a north-south direction, the B248 through the districts Jameln and Platenlaase. On this bus line Dannenberg Lüchow runs.

The German regional rail operates the rail line Dannenberg Lüchow, traffic rests, however. The station is located on the southeastern edge Jamelns towards Platenlaase.

In the fall of 2005, the first nationwide gas station for biogas was opened. The planned by the Association regions active biogas plant is near the cooperative ( RWG Jameln; Old Railway Station ) created and connected by line to also belong to the cooperative station on the main road at the exit 248 towards Lüchow.

Fire department

In the community Jameln the fire brigade Jameln provides volunteer firefighters, equipped with a crew transport vehicle MTF, a pumper TLF 16/24 and a Löschgruppenfahrzeug LF 8 for the safety of citizens.
