James A. Contner

James A. Contner ( born June 12, 1947 in the U.S.) is an American cinematographer and television director, specializing in series.

Life and work

Contner began his career in the early 70s as a camera assistant. In this role he was also involved in 1974 Steven Spielberg's Jaws shocker. Starting rotated with the 1977, the first Superman movie Contner worked as a simple cameraman. Since 1979, when he made his debut in William Friedkin's playing in the New York gay scene thriller Cruising, Contner worked as director of photography. In this role, he photographed primarily action based materials, since the mid- 80s Contner focused on the television series (including Miami Vice ).

Since his debut in a rotated 1986 episode of the series Crime Story, James Contner focused on working as a television director. In this role, he created a large number of episodes of popular series here: besides Miami Vice and The Night Hawk, 21 Jump Street, Wiseguy and SeaQuest DSV. Since the turn of the millennium staged Contner especially in science fiction, fantasy and horror genre. He turned a few episodes of Roswell, Smallville, Star Trek: but Enterprise and Charmed was, in the early 2000s, especially with the majority of the episodes of the highly successful Vampire Slayer series, Buffy - the Vampire Slayer and the Buffy spin- off Angel - hunters of Darkness busy.
