James A. McNulty

James Aloysius McNulty ( born January 16, 1900 in New York City, USA, † September 4, 1972 in Buffalo ) was Bishop of Buffalo.

Life

James Aloysius McNulty received on 12 July 1925 the Bishop of Newark, John Joseph O'Connor, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On August 2, 1947, he was named by Pope Pius XII. Titular Bishop of Methoni and appointed him as Auxiliary Bishop of Newark. The Archbishop of Newark, Thomas Joseph Walsh, donated to him on 7 October of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Trenton, William Aloysius Griffin, and the Bishop of Hartford, Henry Joseph O'Brien. On April 9, 1953, he was named by Pope Pius XII. Bishop of Paterson. Pope John XXIII. appointed him on 12 Februat 1963 as Bishop of Buffalo.

James Aloysius McNulty attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council.
