James Allison (motorsport)

James Allison ( born February 21, 1968 in Louth ) is a motorsport engineer and currently the Technical Director Chassis Scuderia Ferrari.

After graduating from the University of Cambridge in 1991 Allison joined the Aerodynamics Department of the Formula 1 team, Benetton. After a few years he left Benetton and joined as chief engineer to Larrousse before he also returned to the mid-1990s as chief engineer to Benetton. 2000 James Allison went for five years at Ferrari. After his re- return to Benetton in 2005, took the time under the name Renault F1, he worked as Deputy Technical Director.

In 2009 he was promoted to technical director at Renault. Allison worked as technical director of the team, which had renamed F1 Team 2010 Renault F1 Team, 2011 Lotus Renault GP and 2012 in Lotus until 2013. He then moved a second time to Ferrari, where he held the position of Technical Director Chassis. His successor at Lotus took over Nick Chester.
