James Barclay

James Barclay ( born March 15, 1965 in Felixstowe ( Suffolk ), England ) is a British fantasy writer.

Biography

His youthful enthusiasm for role playing, fantasy and science fiction novels brought Barclay early to even begin to write. At the age of eighteen years he began to study engineering at Sheffield polytechnics, but soon moved into the field of art and studied communications. His first publication as an author found himself in a local magazine.

After studying Barclay took lessons at a drama school in London, took part in smaller productions and also worked for a parcel delivery service or as an investment adviser. There he continued to work as an advertising agent.

In 1999, his debut novel Dawnthief was ( in Germany into two parts, namely spell and dragons oath published) as the first part of the novel series The Chronicles of the Raven (German: The Chronicles of the Raven ) published. The large, commercial success of the series allowed him to concentrate on the writing.

Barclay is married and lives with his wife in Teddington, near London.
