James Burty David

James Burty David ( * 1951, † 13 December, 2009 Port Louis) was a politician from Mauritius.

Biography

It was in December 1976 for the first time as a member of the Mauritian Labour Party (MLP ) for the Members of Parliament ( Assemblée legislature) selected, where he constituency Belle- Rose- Quatre- Bornes represented until his election defeat in 1982.

After he had retired nearly thirteen years out of politics, he returned in January 1995, returned to political life and he ran together on a list with the then Foreign Minister Paul Bérenger in a by-election in the constituency Stanley Rose- Hill. Finally, he was elected in December 1995 on the deputies of the Legislative Assembly for the electoral district of Port Louis Grande Rivière Nord-Ouest.

James Burty David was most recently Minister of Local Government, Rodrigues and the Outer Islands in the government of Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam.
