James Cowles Prichard

James Cowles Prichard ( born February 11, 1786 in Ross-on -Wye, Herefordshire, † December 23, 1848 in London) was an English physician and ethnologist.

Psychiatry Historically interesting is his concept of " moral insanity ", which has great similarities to Esquirol's monomania doctrine and Marc's, and goes back to the concept of mania sine delirio Michael Ettmüllers and manie sans délire Philippe Pinel.
