James Denton

James Denton ( born January 20, 1963 in Nashville, Tennessee ) is an American actor.

Biography

After graduating from the University of Knoxville and a casually acquired degree in television programs and advertising it took 23 years to a position at the local theater. Denton spent four years in advertising for two radio stations before he decided to move to Chicago to pursue his dream of acting.

There he received his first role in the play A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. Denton et al looked after in the comedy Rat Rat on Griffin theater and was a member of Strawdog Theatre Ensemble. During this time he also received a number of awards, including for his role as a priest in The Diviners by Jim Leonard. For this role he was Best Actor for Chicago's only theater award, the Joseph Jefferson Award nominations.

He had his first television appearances in the series The Untouchables, Dark Skies - Deadly threat and Sliders - The gate into a strange dimension. After roles followed in movies Old Feeling, In the body of the enemy, and with a vengeance. 1997 Denton was given the role of Mr. Lyle in the television series The Pretender, which he held until the cessation of series 2000. After guest appearances on The West Wing - The West Wing and Ally McBeal, he took over from 2001 to 2002, the main role of judge Augustus Ripley in Philly. From 2004 to 2012 Denton starred in the hit TV series Desperate Housewives plumber Mike Delfino, who with Susan Mayer, played, was married by Teri Hatcher.

Denton is an avid guitarist and occurs along with other celebrities on the charity rock group Band From TV, participate in the castmates Teri Hatcher (vocals), Jesse Spencer ( violin ) and Hugh Laurie ( vocals and keyboards ).

He has since December 2002 been married to his personal trainer Erin, with whom he one daughter ( * 2005) and a son (* 2003).
