James Dugdale, 2nd Baron Crathorne

( Charles) James Dugdale, 2nd Baron Crathorne KCVO, KStJ, FRSA ( born September 12, 1939) is a British aristocrat, art dealer and businessman.

Career

Dugdale attended Eton College and then studied at Trinity College at the University of Cambridge. He first worked at Sotheby's in the department of Impressionist paintings, and later in the office in New York.

Since 1969, Dugdale is self-employed as an independent art consultant. In the field of visual arts as well as the maritime training of young people ( cadets ) and the universities in Yorkshire had and he has a variety of honorary positions, some of them leaders, held. Since 1972 he is member of the Royal Society of Arts, since 1999 Knights of St John. In the same year he was also Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire.

When his father died in 1977 Dugdale inherited the title of Baron Crathorne and the associated seat in the House of Lords and a baronet. Even after the reform of the Upper House in 1999, he will continue to sit there as one of the 90 members who are elected by the hereditary nobles.

Family

Dugdale was in 1970 married to Sylvia died in 2009 Mary Montgomery. The couple has two daughters and a son.
