James F. Lloyd

Frederick James Lloyd ( born September 27, 1922 in Helena, Montana; † February 2nd 2012 in Pensacola, Florida ) was an American politician. Between 1975 and 1981 he represented the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

James Lloyd attended the public schools in the states of Washington, California and Oregon. Between 1940 and 1942 he studied at the University of Oregon. After that, he served during World War II in the U.S. Navy as a naval aviator. He remained until 1963 in the Navy. During this time he studied in 1958 at Stanford University, and then to 1966 at the University of Southern California. In the following years he worked in advertising. Between 1970 and 1973 he taught the subject political science at Mt San Antonio College in Walnut. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. From 1968 to 1972 he was a member of the California State Board of his party. Between 1968 and 1975 he was a councilor in West Covina, where he officiated in the years 1973 and 1974 as mayor.

In the congressional elections of 1974, Lloyd became the 35th electoral district of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Glenn M. Anderson on January 3, 1975. After two re- election he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 1981 three legislative periods. In 1980 he was defeated by Republican David Dreier. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives James Lloyd is no longer politically have appeared. He died on 2 February 2012 in a car accident that was the result of a stroke, in Pensacola.
