James Gang

The James Gang (named after the band of Jesse James ) was an American rock band that was founded in Cleveland, Ohio in 1966.

Band History

The original lineup of the band consisted of Jim Fox, drums, Tom Kriss, E -Bass, Ronnie Silverman, guitar, Phil Giallombardo Keyboards and Glen Schwartz, guitar. In this line, however, an album was never released. 1968 Joe Walsh replaced Glen Schwartz, who founded the group with Pacific Gas & Electric. With Walsh was the first release " Yer Album ". In 1969 the album "The James Gang rides again " was released with the two hits " Funk # 49 " and "The Bomber". The James Gang toured as support to The Who during their England tour. After the release of two more albums, " Thirds " and the live album " James Gang Live in Concert", Walsh left the band to push after a brief solo career to The Eagles.

After a few more Neu-/Umbesetzungen, inter alia, with Tommy Bolin, the band broke up in 1976. In the occupation Walsh / Peters / Fox 1996 it came to a re-union, with appearances in the " Drew Carey Show" ( 1988-89 ) and the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" ( 2001). 2006, the band toured in the U.S., with live performances in the " Howard Stern Radio Show".
