James H. Charlesworth

James Hamilton Charlesworth (* May 30, 1940 ) is Professor of New Testament Language and Literature at Princeton Theological Seminary. He is among other things a project to research the scrolls from the Dead Sea ( Dead Sea Scrolls Project). He is known for his exploration of apocryphal and pseudepigraphischer writings on the Old and New Testament and the Dead Sea Scrolls. In addition, he conducts research on Josephus, the historical Jesus and the Gospel of John. Charlesworth is a founder and long-standing member of the " Enoch Seminar " and Advisory Board of the Journal Henoch. He has edited or authored over 60 books. In 2001 he was one of the interviewees in the award-winning BBC documentary series Son of God ( " The Son of God "), which was dedicated to the life of Jesus and wanted to represent what is current state of knowledge to say about him.
