James III of Cyprus

James III. of Cyprus (* August 1473, † 1474 ) was ( formally) the last king of Cyprus.

He was the only child of King James II and the Venetian Catherine Cornaro and died before completing his first year of life.

His mother, Catherine, first regent and then last queen of Cyprus was Jacob's death. In 1489 she was forced to abdicate in Venice; so that Cyprus was Venetian until the conquest by the Ottomans in 1571 colony.
