James L. Reveal

James Lauritz Reveal ( born March 29, 1941 in the United States) is a North American botanist who developed the Reveal system and as a professor emeritus in the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group ( APG II) cooperated. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Reveal ".

Life and work

Reveal came in the late 1960s to the Norton -Brown Herbarium of the University of Maryland, he served as director from 1979 to 1999. On 31 July 1999, he retired. His publications and scientific works dealing with floristic studies in western North American vascular plants, with the pre- Linnaean Pflanzenaufsammlungen from the temperate North America in herbaria, with the genus Eriogonum, Polygonaceae and the supra- generic nomenclature of vascular plants.
