James McGrew

James Clark McGrew (* September 14, 1813 near Brando Ville, Schuylkill County, Virginia (now West Virginia), † September 18, 1910 in Kingwood, West Virginia ) was an American politician.

The previously active in trade and banking McGrew 1861 was a delegate to the Assembly, which should decide on the secession of Virginia, and voted against. From 1863 to 1865 he was a member of the House of Representatives from West Virginia. During this time he also held the office of mayor of Kingwood.

McGrew was elected as a Republican to Congress and represented there on 4 March 1869 to 3 March 1873 State of West Virginia in the U.S. House of Representatives. 1879 and 1880 he was again mayor of Kingwood. From 1886 he was re- worked in the banking industry. McGrew died 1910 in Kingwood and was buried in the Maplewood Cemetery.
