James Morrison (musician)

James Morrison ( born November 11, 1962 in Boorowa, New South Wales, Australia) is an Australian multi-instrumentalist. In addition to the trumpet Morrison also dominates trombone, euphonium, flugelhorn, saxophone, piano and electronic trumpet. He is one of the major international jazz trumpet players, has played with many great jazz musicians and created numerous own band projects to life. Life and work

Morrison met with 7 years of cornet playing and ceded in 1971 with their own groups. 1975 to 1980 he studied at the New South Wales Conservatorium in Sydney. In 1979 he played at the Monterey Jazz Festival. In 1984 his debut album A night in Tunesia with the " Morrison Brothers Big Band ". In the same year he played at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. In 1987 he toured the United States with Red Rodney and 1988 he took Live from Montreux Jazz Festival (Swiss Encounter with Adam Makowicz, Buster Williams, Al Foster). In 1989 he toured with the band of Gene Harris. In 1990 he was elected to Australia for Performer of the Year. In 1994 he toured with his band " Hot Horn Happening ".
