James Nash (racing driver)

James Nash ( born December 16, 1985 in Milton Keynes ) is a British racing driver. He will start in 2012 in the World Touring Car Championship ( WTCC).

Career

Nash began his motorsport career in karting in 2000, where he was active until 2004. In 2005, he debuted in Formula Ford Zeus in Formula racing. As of 2006, Nash was active for two years in the British Formula Ford. After a fifth place in his first season, Nash was with 562 to 680 runners behind Callum MacLeod.

In 2008, Nash decided for a change in the touring cars. He started for Sunred Engineering Seat Leon Eurocup. With two podium finishes, he finished the season on top of the fifth. 2009 Nash received at RML a part-time cockpit for the British Touring Car Championship ( BTCC ) in a Chevrolet Cruze. While his team-mate Jason Plato was runner-up, Nash reached a podium placement with a third place and finished 15th in the driver standings. 2010 increased Nash for the second race weekend at Triple 8 Race Engineering in the BTCC a. He received a Vauxhall Vectra. With a third place as the best placement Nash improved in the championship to the twelfth grade. 2011 Nash denied the BTCC season consistently for Triple 8 Race Engineering. On the Rockingham Motor Speedway, he succeeded in his first BTCC victory, which was his only win of the season. With a total of nine podium finishes, he finished the championship in fifth place. In addition, he won this season the Independents' Trophy BTCC.

2012 joined Nash in the World Touring Car Championship ( WTCC). He goes into a Ford Focus 1.6T of the Team Aon at the start. After the second race weekend is a twelfth place his best result.
