James Ployhar

James D. Ployhar ( born December 22, 1926 in Valley City, North Dakota; † 2 January 2007) is an American composer and conductor.

Career

First Ployhar studied at Valley City State College, then to complete his music studies at the University of Northern Colorado with a Master of Arts. He completed his studies in composition at California State University, Long Beach at Morris Hutchins Ruger. A private studies with Knud Hovalt, a member of the Royal Danish Philharmonic Orchestra rounded off his education.

Whole 17 years he was conductor of the Concert Band Middle School in Fargo, in the state of North Dakota. Twenty years he was a music teacher and wrote works for teaching and manuals for young musicians. That was the best ammunition to lead seminars and so-called clinics across the United States of America and Canada, which he gained as a conductor and composer for young musicians and school - band high profile.

Compositionally, he devoted many years been his attention to the creation and dissemination of educational literature for band. To a true bestseller to his school for all instruments developed in Concert (Contemporary band Course ).
