James Read
James Read ( born July 31, 1953 in Buffalo, New York, USA) is an American actor.
Biography
He became famous in particular through roles in the television series Remington Steele (1982-1983) as Murphy Michaels as a partner of Pierce Brosnan and Stephanie Zimbalist as well as in North and South (1985 ) as George Hazard on the side of Patrick Swayze. In 1987, he portrayed Cary Grant in the TV movie Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story. In 1988, he played in the movie girlfriends ( Beaches ) on the side of Bette Midler.
He has guest starred, among others in the series Murder, She Wrote, Charmed - Magical Witches ( as the father of Magical sisters) as well as a murderer in Columbo in the episode " Slinky poison" ( Uneasy Lies the Crown ) as a star dentist Wesley Corman. Read was also in an episode of Superman - Lois & Clark see as the father of Jimmy Olsen as well as Jaffen in the double episode " workers " of the series Star Trek: Voyager.
He is married since 1988 to actress Wendy Kilbourne, whom he had met at the filming of North and South. Today, the couple lives in Malibu, California with his two children, Jackson and Sydney.
