James Shaffer
James Christian ' Munky ' Shaffer ( born June 6, 1970 in Rosedale ) is an American guitarist. He came to prominence in particular due to its activity in the nu-metal band Korn.
Career
Shaffer began in his youth playing the guitar on the recommendation of a physician after him in a bike accident the fingertips were cut off. Due to the fine motor requirements when playing a guitar, the doctor hoped success in the context of therapy.
Information from Shaffer according to which he was not included in grain due to particularly good musical abilities, but simply because the then youthful Brian Welch, Reginald Arvizu and found his long hair so fitting.
In 2007, Shaffer has founded his own record label "Emotional Syphon Records " with which he wants to give hip-hop, rock and jazz artists the chance to live on their own music. Since 2008 he has been working with celebrity support, inter alia, by Faith No More bassist Billy Gould and Bad Religion drummer Brooks Wackerman on a project called Fear and the Nervous System. October 2011, the album was released as a download. Despite this avocation he has declared to remain a member of grain.
Shaffer married in January 2000 and has a daughter from this marriage. Since January 2012, he is married with Evis Xheneti.

- Nicknamed " Munky " has received because of the similarity of its splayed toes with the foot of a monkey (English " Monkey" ) Shaffer.
- Have Shaffer and bandmate Welch with the " Ibanez K7 " own, seven-string guitar in the Ibanez signature series. He also now has its own signature guitar, the Ibanez ApexBBK
- For incomprehension made 2002 his statement in an interview with the magazine Metal Hammer, when he said that Hitler would probably have gone to heaven, because he had done what he thought was right and it could probably be nothing wrong. For this statement he publicly apologized.
