James Shigeta

James Shigeta ( born June 17, 1933, Hawaii, USA) is an American actor.

Biography

Shigeta was born in Hawaii. His family is of Japanese descent. He studied at New York University. During the Korean War, he was employed by the U.S. Marine Corps.

Later he moved to Japan where he performed in several musical films. In 1959 he played his first leading role in The Crismon kimono. In the following years, he starred in several films and TV series in major or minor roles. One of his most famous roles was that of the CEOs in the action film Die Hard. In the Disney movie Mulan He also lent his voice to the General Li.
