Jamey Haddad

Jamey George Haddad ( born 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American drummer and percussionist with Lebanese background. In addition to studying percussion at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, he learned traditional Lebanese percussion instruments already in early childhood.

After several years of studies of the Carnatic, ie South Indian music with Ramnad Raghavan Haddad received a Fulbright scholarship that such as the Kanjira gave him a one-year study of Indian percussion instruments. In addition, he was the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship granted.

Jamey Haddad appeared with Paul Simon, the Paul Winter Consort, Dave Liebman, Joe Lovano, Alan Farnham, Carly Simon, Betty Buckley, Rabih Abou- Khalil, Simon Shaheen, Trichy Sankaran, Osvaldo Golijov, Nguyên Lê, Steve Shehan, Elliot Goldenthal Sergio and Odair Assad, Daniel Schnyder, Nancy Wilson, and Steve Gadd.

Haddad teaches at Berklee College of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music.
