Jamie Bamber
Jamie Bamber (born 3 April 1973 in Hammersmith, London St John Bamber Griffith as Jamie ) is a British actor.
Life
Born as the son of an American and a North Irish in England, he moved to Paris in his early childhood. At the age of seven years he moved with his parents and six brothers and sisters back to the UK. His only sister Anastasia Griffith is also known as an actress.
The first year of his studies of French and Italian literature he spent in Italy. After graduating, he decided for the professional acting and studied at LAMDA ( The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art ). At Cambridge University, England, he achieved a 1st Class Honours MA in modern languages .
In 2001, he took a supporting role in HBO's Band of Brothers, which was co-produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. From 2003 to 2008 he played the role of Captain / Major / Commander / President Lee "Apollo " Adama in Battlestar Galactica, or of the previous miniseries. For this role, the actor actually blonde dyed his hair dark since as " Apollo " dark Richard Hatch in the original hair had. He also acts in other films. After the end of Battlestar Galactica Bamber took over one of the main roles of the crime drama Law & Order: UK, which is the English branch of the U.S. series Law & Order. There he was seen from 2009 to 2011. In addition to this, he took from 2011 repeatedly episode roles in U.S. shows like CSI: Miami, House MD or Body of Proof.
Jamie Bamber is in September 2003 married to actress Kerry Norton. On 12 June 2003 his first daughter was born, on 27 September 2004 was followed by twins.
