Jamie Benn

James Benn ( born July 18, 1989 in Victoria, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player standing since 2009 with the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League contract. His brother Jordie Benn is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Jamie Benn began his career as a hockey player with the Peninsula Panthers, for which he stood until 2006 on the ice. Then the Canadians was active in the 2006/07 season for the Victoria Grizzlies in the British Columbia Hockey League. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 in the fifth round as the 129th overall player from the Dallas Stars. First, however, the attacker ran for two years in the Western Hockey League Kelowna Rockets for, with whom he won the 2009 Ed Chynoweth Cup as WHL champions. With 33 points in 19 playoff games, he played a key role in this success and thus was top scorer in the WHL playoffs.

He then signed a contract with the Dallas Stars, for whom he made ​​his debut in the National Hockey League on 3 October 2009 at the home game against the Nashville Predators before the season 2009/10.

For the duration of the NHL lockout in the 2012/13 season he played with the Hamburg Freezers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Since the beginning of the 2013/2014 season is Jamie Benn captain of the Dallas Stars.

Internationally

Jamie Benn was appointed during his second season in the WHL with his teammate Tyler Myers in the Canadian U20 national team and participated with this at the Junior World Championship in 2009.
