Jamie Caven

Jamie Robert Caven ( born March 10, 1976 in Leicester, Leicestershire ) is an English darts player, who is currently in the PDC under contract. His nickname is Jabba, in reference to the insulin syringes ( eng. jabs ), he must inject daily. His running music is Tom Hark by The Piranhas.

Career

From 1992 to 2007 Caven played in the BDO and then moved to the PDC.

Caven qualified for the PDC World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace in 2008 and struck in the first round, Wes Newton 3-0 and then lost in the second round against Wayne Mardle 1-4, although he had won the first set.

With this run he made for one of the main stories in the World Cup in 2008, because he is diabetic and blind in one eye, so he has to inject insulin at least four times a day. Due to a bee sting in infancy he is unilaterally blind.

In the PDC World Darts Championship 2009, he was defeated in the first round with 2-3 the set of 21 Mark Walsh.
