Jamie Cope

Jamie Cope ( born September 12, 1985 in Stoke -on-Trent ) is an English snooker player.

Career

The already very successful in the youth Englishman stood at the Royal London Watches Grand Prix 2006 in Aberdeen for the first time in his career in the final of a world ranking tournament, but he lost to Neil Robertson with 5:9. In the same tournament he played his first official maximum break. In training, he managed even 155 points (16 Reds clearance), the highest possible break that can be achieved with the help of a ball in addition granted, a so-called free-ball.

In the season 2006/2007 Cope reached after a thrilling snooker crime against Barry Hawkins, who was not decided until the last black ball, 6-5 the final of the China Open in Beijing. There he lost against Graeme Dott with 5:9. At the World Championships 2008 in Sheffield, he lost his opening match against Peter Ebdon at 9:10.

In the second round of the Shanghai Masters 2008 Cope played while his second official maximum break, but retired against Mark Williams of 2:5.

With consistently good performances he managed to rank 14 for Cut - off point of the season 2010/11 for the first time into the top 16 in the world rankings.

In the semi-finals of the Hainan Classic 2011, he played as only 40 players on the scene his 100th Century Break.

For the season 2012/2013 Jamie Cope slipped in the official ranking back down to 27th place.
