Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx ( born December 13, 1967 in Terrell, Texas; actually Eric Marlon Bishop) is an American actor, musician, comedian, and the third African-American actor who was honored for a starring role with the Oscar.

Life

Jamie Foxx was raised by his grandmother because his parents divorced when he was seven months old. Under pressure from his grandmother, he learned to play the piano. Foxx first wanted to go after school to the Army, but got out of his trainer the Council to make something of his artistic talents. So he began a career as a standup comedian in small clubs in Los Angeles, where he impersonated, among others Ronald Reagan. He was the end of the 80s in the TV comedy with In Living Color. With the broadcast since 1996 sitcom Jamie Foxx Show and various other sketch shows, he became known in the United States. 1997 and 2000 he went with his program on tour. His chosen stage name Foxx is a tribute to the U.S. comedian Redd Foxx, who in turn had chosen his stage name in reference to the baseball star Jimmie Foxx, in 1967, the year of Jamie Foxx, died.

Musically Foxx celebrated successes. His first album, Peep This, 1995 climbed to number 12 in the U.S. Billboard charts. The sophomore Unpredictable reached in December 2005, even for a short time space 1, 2010, he sang at We Are the World 25 for Haiti with and therefore campaigned for Haiti.

His first film role, he took over at the side of Robin Williams in the movie Toys. Initially he played in comedies, he received his first serious role in the football drama Any Given Sunday by Oliver Stone. For breakthrough helped him the role in Collateral ( 2004) as an opponent of Tom Cruise, the him his first Oscar nomination (2005, Best Supporting Actor ) earned. For the film Ray (2004), in which he played the blind legendary musician Ray Charles, he won the 2005 Golden Globe Award for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy / Musical and the Oscar for best actor. Thus, Foxx was by Sidney Poitier (1963, lilies of the field ) and Denzel Washington (2002, Training Day ), the third African-American actor with a lead roles Oscar.

In 2007, he starred alongside Jennifer Hudson, Anika Noni Rose and Beyonce Knowles a lead role in the film Dreamgirls, which won two Oscars.

In 2011, he dubbed in the U.S. 3D animation film Rio the Gelbbauchgirlitz Nico.

Foxx is the father of two daughters.

Foxx voice actor is mostly Charles Rettinghaus. In some films, he is also spoken by Dietmar Wunder, including date, as Rettinghaus in this movie Robert Downey Jr. already synchronized.
