Jamie Jones (snooker player)

Jamie Jones ( born February 14, 1988 in Neath ) is a Welsh snooker player.

Career

Even as a 14 -year-old Jones played in 2002 a maximum break at an official tournament, then this was the record for the youngest player who managed this. In 2004, he won the European U19 Championship at the age of 16 years.

As the best of Welsh youth players, he qualified for the Main Tour Snooker 2006/07. After only one year, he lost his place on the professional tour again, as he stood at the end of the season only ranked 82. Already in 2008 /09 he was back on the pro tour, but could again no longer hold than a year - number 78 stood at the end of the season to book.

About the Pontin's International Open Series, he failed to qualify for the season 2010/11 a third time. In particular, due to its good results on the PTC series he spent time among the 64 best in the Snooker world rankings and so defended his place on the tour. On the Players Tour Championship 2010/11 he won all 12 Vorturnieren the 21th place in the prize money rankings and was therefore unable to qualify for the final tournament in Dublin, which took place in March 2011. There, however, he lost in the first round to the eventual finalists, Martin Gould. On one of the PTC Vorturniere he scored 143 points his time highest official break as a professional.

Through victory over Andy Hicks and Ricky Walden he was qualified for the finals of the World Snooker Championship 2012, where he was able to defeat the former world champion Shaun Murphy in his first round match and failed to Allister Carter in the quarter -finals.
