Jamling Tenzing Norgay

Jamling Sherpa Tenzing Norgay ( born April 23, 1966 in Darjeeling ) is an Indian mountaineer and son of Tenzing Norgay, the New Zealander Edmund Hillary, together with the 1953 succeeded in the first ascent of Mount Everest. Like his father, he is a mountain guide. In 1996, he also reached the summit of Mount Everest. Published in 1998 about the IMAX documentary Everest - Summit without mercy. Jamlings task was to lead as cited by the Direction Sherpa expedition to the summit and to allow the expedition team, the Himalayas and especially to film the Everest. Directed by David Breashears, he also plays himself a starring role in the film.

Jamling is already the 10th family member of the Norgay family, which stood on the " top of the world ". Tashi Tenzing His nephew climbed Mount Everest in 1997 also.

In the Everest 50th Anniversary Expedition (2002) by Peter Hillary, son of Sir Edmund Hillary first ascent, he was present at the base camp.

Jamling Tenzing Norgay is the author of the book In the footsteps of my father - The Sherpas and Everest (English: "Touching My Fathers Soul "). The book includes a foreword by the Dalai Lama and has been translated into 18 languages. The original edition reached number 24 of the best-seller list of The New York Times and # 15 in Germany, it was nominated for three awards in Canada, London and the United States.

Jamling Tenzing Norgay runs the company founded by his father in 1978 Tenzing Norgay Adventures, which organizes treks in the Himalayas, since 2010 also in Germany under the name of Tenzing Norgay trekking. It leads to this day many treks itself as a mountain guide and thereby controls destinations in Sikkim, Bhutan and Nepal. If he is not on tour, he travels the world and gives lectures and motivational courses for unterschiedlichstes public, companies and universities. His personal experiences that his father Tenzing Norgay and culture of the Sherpa are in his courses and lectures in the foreground.
