The Jämthund is recognized by the FCI Swedish breed (FCI Group 5, Section 2, Standard No. 42).

This dog, which is one of the Nordic dogs is 57-65 inches tall and 29.5 to 30.5 kg. The hair is pretty tight, light to dark gray. The Jämthund originating in the Swedish province of Jämtland historical and is mainly used for hunting elk in the past to bear and the lynx. The salient features are its strength and endurance.
