Jan Adrian Łata

January Adrian Łata ( born March 7, 1944 in Radłów, Poland), ordained priest on 25 May 1969, is a Polish Roman Catholic theologian.

Life

January Łata Adrian was born on March 7, 1944 in Biskupice Radłowskie at Radłów, Poland, approximately 20 kilometers north- west of Tarnów, as the third of four children. His father was a construction engineer, his mother a weaver. He was received Confirmation on June 25, 1956 in Radłów by Auxiliary Bishop Karol Pękala. In May 1962 Łata completed his schooling at the grammar Lizeum in Radłów with the Abitur and entered the seminary in Tarnow one. His studies he had to interrupt 1963-1965 to abzuleisten the general compulsory military service. Scientific activity

Łata his doctorate in 1993 at the Theological Academy of Krakow with a thesis on " Bóg i Chrystus - jako objawione odpowiedzi na Tajemnice bytů i egzystencji człowieka według Paweł Tillicha " (God and Christ as the answer to the mystery of existence and the existence of man in the Philosophy of Paul Tillich ). With his doctoral thesis and numerous translations of the works of Paul Tillich into Polish, he helped the Protestant theologian Paul Tillich and thus also the ideas of Karl Barth, Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Rudolf Bultmann in Catholic Poland to make known. Today ( 2013) works Łata in Weiding as pastor and writes books about the situation of Christians in the present day.
