Jan Alston

January Alston ( born April 14, 1969 in Granby, Quebec ) is a retired Canadian-Swiss ice hockey player and current coach and - functionary.

Playing career

The 1.80 m wide center began his career at the Saint -Jean Castors and the Saint -Jean Lynx in the Canadian Junior Football League QMJHL, before moving to Italy, where he first at HC Appiano, later in the WSV Sterzing, EV Bruneck and HC Varese played.

For the 1994/95 season the right shooter moved to the National League A for EHC Biel, with other stations in Switzerland were first HC Davos and HC La Chaux -de-Fonds. he joined the German Hockey League to the capital Berlin, which he left after one season in the direction of Adler Mannheim.

With the Eagles Alston in 1999 and 2001 German Masters, also in 2000 he was top scorer with 74 points DEL in 55 games this season. After his last championship season in Mannheim, he returned to the National League A in the ZSC Lions. With the people of Zurich, he was in season 2001/ 02 and 2004/05 season runner-up, and in the 2007/ 08 season he won, also thanks to his good performances in the playoffs, the championship title.

In the season 2010/11 Alston played for Lausanne HC in the National League B. In parallel, he was an assistant coach of the team. Since 2011 he is director of sport at the Lausanne HC.
