Jan Antonín Koželuh

January Evangelista Antonín Tomáš Koželuh (Johann Anton Evangelista Thomas Ko (t ) zeluch; baptized December 14, 1738 in Welwarn; † February 3, 1814 in Prague) was a Bohemian composer.

Koželuh studied at the Jesuit College of Brenitz and Josef Seger in Prague. He completed his training in Vienna with Christoph Willibald Gluck and Florian Leopold Gassmann, according to Gassmann's death, presumably with Antonio Salieri. He then became conductor at the Kreuzherrenkirche and from 1784 St. Vitus in Prague. Throughout his life he stood in the shadow of his cousin Leopold Antonín Koželuh, he had at times even taught and with whom he still often - is confused - even in the trusses and various business directories.

Koželuh has composed sixteen fairs, a requiem, an oratorio, two operas, an oboe and a bassoon concerto.
