Jan C. A. Boeyens

January Christoffel Antonie Boeyens ( born October 2, 1934 in Wesselsbron, Free State Province ) is a South African chemist.

He received his Ph.D. in Pretoria. From 1963 he worked at the National Physical Research Laboratory of South Africa, 1965 in Stanford. In 1981 he was appointed professor of chemistry at the University of Witwatersrand. Guest professorships led him in 1994 at the Free University of Berlin and in 1998 in Heidelberg.

In 1995 he initiated the Indaba series of International Union of Crystallography, which he organized to Indaba 5 in August 2006.
