Jan Frans van Bloemen

Jan Frans van Bloemen ( * before May 12, 1662 in Antwerp, † June 13, 1749 in Rome) was a Flemish landscape painter of the Baroque.

Life

Jan Frans van Bloemen, brother of Pieter van Bloemen, mostly stayed on in Rome. The landscapes of Claude Lorrain and Gaspard Poussin have exercised the greatest influence on him; it is the latter, of course, in the rhythmic beauty of the trace after, but surpasses him often in terms of clarity and shade of the Far, earning him the nickname " Orizzonte " procured.
